Country Focus: South Korea
Korea (a.k.a. Republic of Korea, ROK or South Korea) is located in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. Its immediate neighbors are China to the west and north-west, Japan to the east (separated by the East Sea) and Russia to the north-east.

The flora and fauna of Korea includes a relatively rich bird life and many endemic species including endangered species.
Korea is a temperate country. The main religion in Korea is traditionally Buddhism.
In terms of cuisine, Korean food are generally prepared with a rich mixture of essential ingredients which include many spices and sauces. Kimchi (generally made of fermented and preserved cabbage) is world famous and is probably considered an iconic feature of Korean cuisine. But Korean food is not only about kimchi as most Koreans and regular visitors would attest.
