Country Focus: Indonesia
Indonesia is geographically an archipelago of thousands of islands; the largest among these islands being Java (where the capital city Jakarta is located), Sumatra, Kalimantan (on the island of Borneo where the eastern Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak and the Sultanate of Brunei are also located) and Sulawesi to the east of the archipelago.

Indonesia is located in South-East Asia and its immediate neighbors in the north are Malaysia and Singapore, the Philippines towards the north-east, East Timor to the east and Australia to the south-eastern part of the country. The country is the world's 4th most populous country and is one of the largest democratic countries.

Its geographical location near the equator translates to a all-year weather which is mostly warm and humid. The large size of the country supports an equally large (if not larger) biodiversity with an interesting mix of both Asian and Australasian species among its native flora and fauna.

Internationally on the tourism map, Indonesia is best known for its resort island of Bali which is located to the west of Java. Being a relatively short 2-hour plus flight from Singapore, I have visited Bali many times and absolutely love the place.
The cultural diversity of Indonesia is absolutely amazing and one cannot claim to have toured and understand South-East Asia without having visit this amazing country.
